Since the first Fun Run the Danish Consulate of Houston has participated in multiple ways. Anna Thomsen Holliday, honorary Consul General, presented our trophies and was a participant in the Run. This year Anna was out of the state but we were fortunate to have the new Consul General of Houston, Jakob Vind, do the honors.

The Danish community of Houston is proud to be hosting the first Danish Consulate General in the South. The consulate

is housed in the Williams Tower in the Galleria in the heart of Houston’s extensive business community. The Consulate will focus on building business partnerships and opportunities for Danish companies throughout the South.

Texas has immense opportunities for trade and growth, Texas being one of the world’s largest economies. The new Consul General and Trade Commissioner is Jacob Vind who was with us at our Fun Run in April. He was previously in California where he was Head of Water, Technology Alliance at the Trade Council in North America.

This new Consulate is now one of three in the U.S. – Chicago, New York and Houston. The Danish Embassy is in Washington, D.C. and there is a consulate planned in Silicon Valley.

As members of the Danish American Chamber of Commerce of the SouthWest, DHPS welcomes Mr. Vind and his staff.
